ABOUT BLUE SKIES PILATES

MEET TERI
NATIONALLY CERTIFIED PILATES INSTRUCTOR
Hi, I’m Teri, I started practicing Pilates in 2015 to help improve my balance. I earned a Bachelor’s degree from Auburn University and a Master’s degree from Columbus University in Speech, Language Pathology. I worked as a Speech Pathologist in educational and rehabilitative settings for 30 years until Meniere’s disease, which is an inner ear condition, destroyed my hearing and balance in my right ear. An audiologist suggested that I take Pilates to help with movement such as walking and climbing stairs. Pilates improved my quality of life so much that I decided to become an instructor. I trained with Val Williams at Pilates by Val Instructor Academy using the Balanced Body Curriculum. I am a Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher and a member of the Pilates Method Alliance. I am certified in Mat as well as Reformer, Chair, Barrels, Cadillac (Trap Table) and Core Align. I completed course work and have experience in working with Scoliosis and Neurological Conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s and Stroke. I love teaching Pilates to persons of all ages with any kind of specific need. I look forward to working with you on your Pilates practice.
“Pilates is complete coordination of body, mind and spirit.”
